Breastfeeding is an art of its own. I mean; there’s just so much to learn! To prepare for my breastfeeding plans when the baby arrives, I’ve been consistently reading from both books and the Internet.
SINGAPORE COMMUNITIES
Nothing beats personal experiences and advises from fellow mummies. Here’s two Facebook Groups I’d recommend to Singapore mummies:
BOOKS & REFERENCES
Dr. Wong Boh Boi’s “Guide to Breastfeeding” material is also extremely informative. It tells you:
- how to breastfeed
- common breastfeeding problems
- about the use of drugs and supplements to boost supply
Mummies who’ve been to her prenatal classes will find this book as a great refresher course. The book (along with two others) are free though if you sign up for Thomson Medical Centre’s FBI (First Born Initiative) / SBI (Subsequent Born Initiative) membership program.
ONLINE RESOURCES
“Timeline of a Breastfed Baby” from The Alpha Parent provides very detailed information of what to expect and do starting from childbirth, so you won’t be lost or stressed out.
I’m always on the lookout for great breastfeeding books and communities locally, so do share if you know one :)
